The Oyster, what the hell is it?

Bivalve molluscs. Same family as scallops and mussels . Filter feeder, no brain or backbone.
Has a heart and a liver. Aware of light but doesn’t feel pain. A simple creature more similar to a
leaf than a lobster.

What’s the big deal?

Oysters have been a huge feature in humanity from our early days as hunter gatherers right up
to the industrial revolution. A key species that props up the coastal ecosystem and motivated
early engineering to build railroads to the coast.

Quite literally one of the best foods humans can eat. Bursting with Zinc, omega 3 and loads of
lean protein they promote testosterone production (very rare) and boost the mind, heart and
body.
Nowadays they are sustainably farmed and the native stocks are recovering.

Eat more oysters;
good for you, the ocean and Mother Nature in general.

Types of Oysters

Out of thousands of species, we eat 5.
(Rocks, Natives, Kumamotos, Olympias, Virginicas)

We specialise in Rocks, sustainably farmed. Great for the environment, delicious superfood,
perfect for sharing with drinks!

How Oysters Are Grown?

Many ways, some super wild others highly cultivated. Mostly grown in bays or mouth of rivers.
Perfect mix of water, not too salty, not too minerally.

Oysters are generally grown on trestles in mesh bags. A bit like
grapes in a vineyard.
Price is often dictated by how much human energy goes into its production and transit logistics.
